Songs of Petition
The Coals of My Heart
Blow on the coals of my heart, Lord
Blow on the coals of my heart
I’ve let the winter stay long
But the flame can grow strong
If You’ll blow on the coals of my heart
Too long I have been entangled in sin
By defiling what You once made pure
In my heart there is pride that I cannot hide
I’m a rebel who’s been self-assured
I’ve deceived my own mind by pretending I’m fine
When I’ve really refused to obey
Even though with my lips Your check I kiss
In my heart I’ve been so far away
I’ve lived in the glow of people I know
And from others my true self I’ve hid
Even though I am heard quoting Your Word
I’ve denied It’s power to rid
Myself of the sin that for me You have died
But now to the cross I will cling
Though your Spirit I’ve grieved, if on me You’ll breathe
My heart will be fresher than spring
So blow on the coals of my heart, Lord
Please blow on the coals of my heart
I’ve let the winter stay long
But the flame can grow strong
If You’ll blow on the coals of my heart
A Kingdom Prayer
We have gathered in this place to seek Your Kingdom, Lord
Though we’re poor in spirit as a child we receive Your Kingdom, Lord
In humility we will follow Thee and in unity proclaim the Gospel
May Thy Kingdom come, may Thy will be done
In Your family as it is in heaven
In Your family as it is in heaven
Gladly You have given us the Kingdom of Your Son
Gladly we acknowledge You as Lord, of your equal there is none
From sin’s dark domain we have been reclaimed
Now with You we’ll rule and reign forever
May we honor You in the work You do
As You build in us Your Kingdom family
As You build in us Your Kingdom family
Do a Work
Do a work, O Lord, that only You can do
Hear our urgent plea, our eyes are fixed on You
Restore our hearts to beat within
Bring us back to life again
Do a work that only You can do
Our hearts are cold and lifeless
We need Your Spirit’s pow’r
To raise us up for there’s nothing we can do
Lift us to Your throne above
Fill us with Your love
Create in us a heart, O Lord
That beats for only You
We will give You all the glory
We will give You all the praise
We will give You all the blessing
And all the honor of Your name!
Jesus, Won’t You Weep with Me
Jesus, won’t You weep with me?
Jesus, won’t You weep with me?
My soul is’a achin’ so I ask You, please
Jesus, won’t You weep with me?
Blessed are they that morn
For they shall be comforted
Bless me, I pray, O Lord
Let Your tears be like oil upon my head
You rejoice with those who rejoice
And you weep with those who weep
Comfort me in my affliction, O Lord
I’ll be Your comfort to others I meet
Teach Me to Worship
Teach me, Father, to worship You
Worship in Spirit, worship in Truth
More than the praises my lips can sing
Worship is my life, an offering
A sacrifice made holy by Your cleansing blood
Dead to self, dead to sin
Pleasing You in all that I do
Teach me, Father, to worship You
O the depths of the wisdom and knowledge of God
How unsearchable His ways!
For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things
To Him be the glory forever! Amen!
